Emily Flake is a cartoonist, writer, performer, and illustrator living in Brooklyn. She is a frequent contributor the the New Yorker, the Nib, and many other publications. She is the author and illustrator of Mama Tried: Dispatches from the Seamy Underbelly of Modern Parenting and, most recently, That Was Awkward: The Art and Etiquette of the Awkward Hug. She is the creator and cohost of NIGHTMARES, a monthly interview show/podcast about bad dreams. She gives good advice and bakes an excellent pie.
